how to apply for lumberjack scholarship

The Lumberjack scholarship is an award for freshmen, and it is an Arizona-based scholarship given to newcomers to Northern Arizona University. The awardees must have taken and passed the 16 core college preparatory courses and earned a point average of 3.5 as a minimum.

In regards to the LumberJack Scholarship, there are several unanswered questions. You are probably concerned about how to apply, requirements, the application deadline, as well as how much to receive. Find answers in a couple of seconds. Keep reading.

What is the Lumberjack Scholarship?

The Lumberjack scholarship is one that has assisted and financed students to earn their academic degrees over the year. Exclusive to the Northern Arizona University, it allows awardees to claim other scholarships simultaneously (multiple scholarships).

The least acceptable grade in every required core course (English, Mathematics, Laboratory Science, Social Science) is a “B.”

It is a scholarship awarded yearly, so 2022 applications are in line. It is also renewable, provided that you maintain the required criteria.

How Much is the Scholarship?

Before applying for a scholarship, applicants really want to know how much is going to come their way so that they can make plans. Having earlier cemented the fact that the Lumberjack scholarship is exclusive to Arizona residents who in high school had no grade below a B, now let’s talk about how much lumberjack scholarship is and if it can cover the cost for an academic year.

How much is the NAU Lumberjack Scholarship? It is worth approximately $16,000 per annum.

On the Northern Arizona University website, it is stated that for Arizona residents, the total estimated cost for a program is $28,854. Out of that, tuition and fee alone cost $11,896. On that note, your tuition can be paid with the Lumberjack scholarship, but you will need to drop some of your money (for housing, meals, books, etc.) to see your program through.

What GPA Do you Need to Keep the Lumberjack?

So, let’s assume you’ve been awarded the scholarship and trying to avoid losing it. That’s a good thought.

To keep your Lumberjack scholarship, you need to maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and retain your full-time course enrollment.

What Does the Scholarship Cover?

The lumberjack scholarship has its own limitations. To be fully transparent, it covers 100% of the Northern Arizona University Campus tuition, comprising of both fall and spring, BUT it DOES NOT cover any other expenses.

It is also noteworthy that any additional tuition fee outside the awarded amount (approx. $16,000) is the sole responsibility of the student.

How to Apply for Lumberjack Scholarship

Applying for the Lumberjack might be a bit complicated, especially when you stumble on the NAU website. After navigating endlessly, you might not just find that button that says, “Apply for the lumberjack scholarship here.” Anyway, I’ve devised a sure way to go through it: Contacting the right team.

You can open a support ticket with your queries if you are patient enough for a reply via email or phone.

If you need to talk to someone live, then the Chat button on the website will take care of that, or call 928-523-5511. This is probably the best option.

Application Deadline

Applications are ongoing for several scholarships towards the 2022 academic year, and applicants are wasting no time sending their application letters—for example, the Arkansas lottery scholarship.

To deadline date to accept the admission is May 1. The enrollment deposit is expected for the next academic year on or before May 1. This means that for the 2023 academic year, the admission offer has to be accepted and its enrollment deposit paid latest by May 1, 2022.
